Visiting Costa Rica: Turtles
by Josue Salazar
So this is something I’ve wanted to start for a while, Visiting Costa Rica is going to be a new section, and the posts that will go in it are meant to be read by tourists or curious people so they get to know Costa Rica a little bit better.
Today I will mention the turtles, leatherback turtles in particular. Costa Rica is famous for being a place where thousands of them come to lay eggs. If you want to learn more about why they come here, or about turtles in general, this is a very good start page, but for now, I want to just share a few pictures.

I posted more pictures in this Flickr photoset, so head on over there to check the rest of the pictures. You’ll see the hole where they got the turtles from, and well, a bunch of young turtles (most of them will not last long though). My sister was smart and recorded a video (cameraphone quality though):
I hope you enjoyed that, it’s amazing watching the little guys get in the water. Too bad most of them never make it.

Ok sweet cheeks, way to end it on a sad note.
You should talk specifically about Tortuguero, especially for all the tourists.
Anyway, I like this new section. Teach me something I don’t know (shouldn’t be too hard
)!
Well, this isn’t Tortuguero, that’s why I didn’t mention it.
Okay, smarty pants, I didn’t say it was Tortuguero. All I said was that you should mention it b/c if tourists/curious peoples stop by, it might be of interest.
Costa Rica is definitely on our list of places to visit; bit of diving, bit of rainforest, and a bit of nightlife as well.
I look forward to reading more…
